Lost Astronaut Blues

30/10/18

Have you ever wondered how valuable a single breath is?
How delicious and reassuring is to take a deep breath,
knowing that you can take all the mouthfuls of air you desire?

Oxygen levels are critical
And yet I fantasize about the stuff I never valued

A miserable glass of water could be sacred here
An apple
An ant
Life Itself

My suit is about to surrender to all these micrometeorites
The light of these suns can be felt entering my body as spears, wounding me at a genetic level
The heat cannot be ignored

Every warning chime is wailing
All lights have gone flashing red

You all left me here
Not because of egoism
It was just sheer survival instinct

If you ever listen to this
If it ever reaches your satellites
My final request is:

Please
Feed my dog in my absence.
